I have always seen the whole before I could explain the parts. As a child that looked like rearranging a room until it finally made sense to everyone who walked into it. It took me twenty years to learn that this is a discipline and not a personality trait.

What I love is not the seeing. It is the moment it becomes obvious to everyone else. When a team that has been working hard in seven directions looks at the same picture and stops arguing about the wrong thing. That shift is the most satisfying thing I know how to cause.

For most of my career I did not have language for this. The work showed up in performance reviews as organized, thorough, good in a crisis. Useful words. None of them described what I was actually doing, which was designing how the place ran. Seeing the whole while the room sees one piece is a strange thing to carry before anyone hands you a name for it.

So that is what I build. I design how organizations operate across functions. Decision rights, governance, the rhythm work actually moves through. Not the software and not the process map. The architecture underneath both, which is the part nobody owns and everybody feels.

The reason it matters is simple. Capable people trapped in a structure that cannot carry them for years. They are not. The variety is already in the room. The structure decides whether it ever reaches the problem.

I build so it holds after I go. The adoption transfers. The training runs without me in it. The system stays when my hands come off, because a thing that needs its author was never finished.

I choose environments where the product is worth protecting. Craft cultures. Places where taste and long-term thinking carry the same weight as throughput, and where hard questions are the ordinary language of people who want to get it right.
